What is THC-jd: Benefits, Uses, and Legality

Delta 8, HHC, THC-P, THC-jd, and so on — the market of new cannabinoids is virtually endless. There are over 100 cannabinoids that naturally occur in the cannabis and hemp plant, all of which are beneficial cannabinoids.

THC-jd is a potent, rare, and naturally occurring cannabinoid that’s sure to win over the hearts of explorative consumers in search of their new favorite high. Let’s explore the new kid on the block.

What is THC-jd?

THC-jd is a cannabinoid that’s naturally produced in hemp and cannabis plants. Recent studies and the latest technology have discovered this rare cannabinoid is a gem in the rough. While THC-jd is naturally occurring, like many other minor cannabinoids, it’s only found in trace amounts. However, unlike cannabinoids like Delta 8, HHC, THC-P, this one is extracted directly from hemp.

Tetrahydrocannabioctyl (THCjd) has an 8-carbon sidechain. THCjd is a rare octyl cannabinoid and THC isomer found naturally in all varieties of cannabis, including hemp and marijuana. This 8-link alkyl side chain is responsible for THCjd’s potential ability to induce a euphoric high that’s 19-times more potent than THC. The only cannabinoid that had a longer sidechain is THC-P, which had a 7-carbon sidechain and was thought to be the most potent cannabinoid ever.

How Strong is THC-jd?

THC-jd has eight carbon chains compared to five for other variants of THC. As we’ve learned from other variants, this extra side chain means that it will form a stronger bond with the CB1 receptor. This new favorite cannabinoid is believed to be much stronger than Delta-9 THC. In fact, studies show THC-jd is believed to be 30 times more potent than Delta-9 THC and 25 times stronger than Delta 8 THC.

When combined with Delta 8 THC, THCh and THCjd provide a unique effect that completely separates it from other cannabinoids themselves. All cannabinoids work together — and each unique blend produces different effects.

Users report that this novel cannabinoid feels much like regular THC, but a more potent dose. Many consumers report that it’s more indica-like than sativa-like, meaning it has a calming effect. While others have stated that it’s energizing and mood-boosting as it affects people differently,

Is THC-jd Legal?

The 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp, allowing for the sale and distribution of products made with industrial. And while it’s a cannabinoid that gets you high, is it legal? Yes, depending on if it is hemp derived.

THC-jd extracted from marijuana would only be allowed for sale through dispensaries in legal weed states. If extracted from hemp, then it’s legal if it doesn’t contain more than 0.3 percent Delta-9 THC.
